Wholistic Bodywork/Massage Sessions
Bring deep relaxation and rejuvenation to your body, mind, and soul while soothing away tension, stress, and pain. Myofascial release, cranialsacral therapy, deep tissue structural alignment, aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki, hot salt stones, and Swedish massage techniques all may be used to align the tissues and energies of the body, melt away tightness and leave you feeling fabulous. Sometimes a specific pain, injury or postural misalignment is the main focus, while also incorporating deep relaxation, presence, and caring touch to sooth away stress or anxiety. A combination of pain relief, postural alignment, calming of the nervous system, and energetic alignment are commonly provided, often with education of body mechanics and postural corrections.
Relaxation
Flowing rhythmic motions ease tissues throughout the body while focusing in on areas of tension, relieving sore muscles while increasing circulation and flexibility. Myofascial release techniques with both light and firm pressure such as slow kneading, long connected motions, and deep circular movements relax the muscles, soften fascia, increase blood oxygen levels, and decrease stress. This can relieve cramps, loosen joints, and sooth tender or tight areas, helping you to get relief from tension, decompress and relax. This relaxation of the body often spreads to the mind, bringing peace and restoration at deeper and deeper levels.
Massage can play an important role in the process of injury rehabilitation. Massage increases blood circulation and relaxes muscles and tissues. Massage helps to deliver more oxygen and nutrients to soft tissues and organs. An increase of vital nutrients into the tissues accelerates the healing rate of injured areas. Massage can help a range of injuries including sprains, strains, broken bones and muscles tears. Using a variety of techniques, massage can alleviate headaches, stretch out tightness and loosen scar tissue. Using massage as part of injury rehabilitation can increase the rate of healing and shorten recovery time.
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle form of energetic healing that uses light touch to assess and release tensions on the entire central nervous system. By using gentle pressure and movements, restrictions in the soft tissue surrounding the brain and spinal cord are released. This allows for improved movement of cerebrospinal fluid, the clear liquid that bathes the brain and spinal cord, cleans out impurities, delivers nutrients to brain tissue, and allows the brain to maintain health and repair damaged cells. Craniosacral therapy can be an effective treatment for concussions, traumatic brain injuries, headaches and migraines, sinusitis, jaw pain (TMJD), depression and insomnia. Clients receiving cranial sacral therapy may experience unwinding, a spontaneous series of movements which releases physical and emotional tensions. Craniosacral therapy is a relaxing experience with the potential to release deeply held trauma patterns.
Structural alignment uses soft tissue manipulation to realign the fascia of the body and structurally balance its fundamental movement patterns in relation to gravity. This aligns and brings harmony to the body, relieving tension points and reducing or alleviating pain. Explanations of movement patterns and education, along with the suggestion of specific stretches and yoga asanas (positions) may be provided in order to allow the continuation of re-aligning the body and correcting posture outside of the session appointment time.
Aromatherapy eases stress and deepens relaxation by bringing the therapeutic properties of essential oils into your sensory experience. This is an ancient approach that provides many physical and emotional benefits. These oils have been scientifically proven to support your body mentally, physically, and emotionally.
CBD (available upon request for full body or spot treatment with an upgrade charge) is one of the most abundant cannabinoids in cannabis and has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antioxidant properties. That is why CBD cream can reduce the transmission of pain signals. Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids found in CBD strengthen the skin layers, give it more flexibility and more shine. Generally, CBD acts as an analgesic, a topical painkiller without side effects. Moreover, it will help you reduce inflammation in tissue and muscle.

Hot Himalayan salt stone massage warms and loosens tight muscles, allowing access to deeper muscle layers. As the stones are used to massage your body, the heat helps release tension in the back, shoulders, hips, and throughout the body so those muscles can be worked on more effectively. The result is deep relaxation and peace. This treatment is great for anyone suffering from muscle tension and pain, stress, or insomnia. Be sure to ask for hot stones when booking your appointment, as it takes time for the stones to heat before you arrive.
Reiki guides universal life force energy through the hands to restore balance and harmony to the mind, body, and soul. Reiki allows the natural flow of energy to be redirected to where it is needed most. Health maintenance, pain relief, mental quietude and healing result from its application. Reiki is typically used in conjunction with other modalities (such a craniosacral therapy or massage) at Wellness Rising Within, but can be used independently upon request.
Cupping is an ancient healing modality which uses suction to lift soft tissues and create space between the layers of skin, muscles, tendons and fascia. This negative pressure releases adhesions, brings blood flow to stagnant areas, and releases toxins.
Reflexology is a specialized modality of the hands and feet that focuses on specific reflex points. Each of these points correspond to a particular part of the body. Massaging those reflex points alleviates stress and reduces tension in the corresponding body part. Reflexology reduces stress and anxiety, improves mood and general well-being, and provides relief for anyone with tired, achy hands and feet. By reducing tension, you ultimately open up a pathway for the body to heal itself.
Prenatal & Perinatal Massage
Massage during pregnancy is especially beneficial for both baby and mother during each stage of pregnancy. The massage techniques used will vary depending on the trimester and needs of the client. Massage eases the unique physical and emotional stress that new moms experience during this time of growth. There is no additional charge for the specialty of prenatal massage, because Michelle especially enjoys working with this stage of life. Postnatal massage also aids in recovery after delivery, and eases the stresses of motherhood, both physically and emotionally.
